Welcome to The Aliso Kitchen’s world-renowned (kind of) Blogger Spotlight series! What happens here? You’ll learn just what keeps some of the best food bloggers around going, even when life gets in the way.

Without further ado….

Blogger Spotlight

Meet Ann, the woman behind The Holistic Homestead. I love Ann because she’s both a blogger and soap maker! She shares her knowledge about natural living with everyone and always makes items for us to bring that knowledge and love into our own homes.

She knows things people just don’t know anymore. She reminds me of my time in New Mexico where all of the old grandmas know these magical cures and remedies that work better than you’d ever expect. I love that and enjoy reading different ways to bring those sensibilities into my own life through Ann’s work.

Let’s see what she had to say:

What do you blog about?

Natural Living, Cooking, and Gardening

For how long have you been blogging?

2 years

Why did you start this website

When I started my homesteading adventure, I knew almost nothing about it. I decided that there had to be more people like me out there who wanted a real person (not someone with a lot of time and money) to help them create their own homestead, or even just become a little self sufficient, to start where they were.

What one piece of advice do you have for our readers?

DO IT! Don’t let yourself be intimidated- so what if you fail the first time! Keep trying!

What inspires you to keep going?

Sometimes I wonder if I’m just a glutton for punishment! :) What keeps me going is that feeling you get when you do something yourself- the “I can do that/I did that”- definitely a high!

Ann, thank you so much for sharing with us!
