Welcome to my little kitchen! :) So glad to have ya here with me! To learn more about me and my food philosophy, please check out my real food story!
Well, February was especially weird for The Aliso Kitchen. Although I began two giveaways, created two new programs, and wrote more than ever, I noticed a major dip in blog income.
This happened for a few reasons. The biggest reason: I was messing with my advertising efforts. So, that means I tried out a new advertising company (Lijit) and signed up for another (FoodieBlogRoll).
Although I like Lijit, they pay based on 1,000 views. Since this blog only gets about 1,500 a month, that means the earnings are loooooow.
I have an awesome feeling about FoodieBlogRoll, and think it will be a great money maker once everything’s finalized and approved. It’s taken WEEKS to get into the system (all the approvals are manual), and my current ad spaces are only showing the FBR default ads instead of money makers. Sigh.
Hopefully, it’ll work out in the end.
Here’s the breakdown of blog income for February:
AdSense – $2.44 (for real??)
Lijit – $0.45
Disqus Discovery: $0.02
FoodieBlogRoll – $0.00
Amazon Associates – $0.00 (but with nearly 60 product clicks)
Viglink - $0.00 (still, nothing despite an increase in clicks)
Commission Junction – $0.00 (in nearly a year, I have NEVER made a penny from my affiliates here)
Share a Sale – $0.00 (ditto; I think I’m done with this program)
Cultures for Health affiliate – $0.00 (but a brand new and highly promising program)
Mountain Rose Herbs affiliate – $0.00 (brand new program for me)
Tropical Traditions referral program – $0.00 in gift certificates
Total – $2.91

Here are the traffic stats from February:
Total page views: 1,627
Average daily page views: 58
Facebook fans: 563
Twitter followers: 489
Pinterest followers: 73
I have total faith that these numbers will continue to grow, and that the earnings will start to compensate for the tens of hours I put into this beast each week. I just love this blog so much!
Just as a reminder, I have a few events going on at the moment.
- Wilderness Way Basket Giveaway
- 1 Minute Survey (Enter to win a $5 Amazon gift card!)
