Okay, so I’m going to stop the list there. Seriously, I use coconut oil ALL THE TIME, and WHENEVER POSSIBLE. Imagine my challenge trying to figure out how exactly to review this high-grade coconut oil, then, with so many little loves!
So, I decided to tell you a story. About a girl. And a lot of coconuts.
There once was a girl by the name of Rachael (me). She always loved coconuts, stole all of the Mounds and Almond Joy bars from her siblings’ Halloween baskets, and has memories of sniffing coconut scented products around the world. Seriously. I also know the word for coconut in multiple languages, which I used to fuel my coconut addiction as a young child living abroad. And sniffing a lot of things. Dreaming of beaches.
For years, this girl had heard about coconut oil and its health benefits. She assumed (wrongly) that all of the people praising its glories were just some loonies on another weird bandwagon, and it was probably just some overpriced quackery set to take our money. Plus, this girl comes from a very “white bread” family where weird foods just don’t happen (except calamari for some reason).
But, she eventually found this entire world of nourishing, real, and traditional foods that spoke so clearly to all of her dietary and nutritional sensibilities. And there it was again: coconut oil. Could it possibly be as great as they say? Could it really be so versatile?
Then entered Tropical Traditions. They have this incredibly generous blogger outreach program that provides bloggers across the blogosphere the opportunity to try their extremely high quality, virgin, unrefined, cold-pressed, gold standard coconut oil free of charge. No strings attached. If they like the product, they are welcome to review it. If they don’t, they still get to keep 32 ounces of what often retails for nearly $40. Oh yeah, and if they really liked the product and want to review it, they can also host a giveaway to SHARE their new found friend with their readers!
A little cautiously, the girl entered this outreach program, and within a few weeks, a friendly brown cardboard box appeared on her doorstep. It was a cold day in January, and the oil had frozen (and is solid above 76 degrees F). Nervously, she opened the box, checked out this huge block of frozen coconut fat, and decided that the only way to know it in its true state was to try it plain. A spoon was collected, and carefully dipped into the frozen amalgam.
Surprisingly, there was a slight coconut scent and flavor. Pleasantly so. It’s a very mild, tropical scent with a slightly woody note.
That day, she added it to her coffee, made a tart crust, and whipped it into lotion (extremely easy and lasts forever, BTW).
Since then, she has won 2 more of those quarts from other giveaways and is now an absolute convert to the coconut oil world.
But are you?
Whether you’re an old fan or new to the mix, I want to give you the chance to add coconut oil into your life. And since Tropical Traditions has some of the absolute best stuff on the market, this is the perfect way to get started.
